Service Description

The chamber at Summit is a full-body immersion chamber (no part of the body is sticking out), where a person lies inside and the chamber is zipped up. Surrounding air is channeled through an air compressor, filtered in an oxygen concentrator, which then feeds through an Air Cooler and blows into and fills up the chamber. The atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled up to 50kPa With 'pure' oxygen and the added atmospheric pressure, more oxygen is able to enter the lungs increasing the body's ability to heal as this extra oxygen helps fight bacteria. It also triggers the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing. Q&A What should I do to prepare for a treatment? People can go into the chamber fully clothed. It is recommended to wear loose comfortable clothes. Shoes, jewellery, or any sharp objects should be removed before getting into the chamber. It is recommended that tight clothing i.e. stockings are not worn in the chamber, as it may cause feelings of claustrophobia. How will the treatment feel? The chamber will be filled with compressed air. Once the chamber has expanded to its filled size, it will start to pressurise. While the chamber is pressurising, your ears will feel the change in pressure. Otherwise, it should be unnoticeable. To equalise the pressure and avoid feeling fullness in your ears, you will need to equalise, this can be achieved by swallowing or yawning. During the pressurisation process, your mouth may become dry. Once the chamber is fully pressurised, your salvation will return to normal. Additionally, the chamber may become slightly warm while it is pressurising. Once it is to pressure, the relief valves will begin to pull the warmer air out of the chamber. You can sleep, meditate, read, listen to music, or operate your phone whilst in the chamber. How long is the treatment? Treatment times are usually 1 - 2 hours. For people who are diabetic, sessions longer than 60 minutes are advised. Is Hyperbarics Good for the Elderly? Most definitely. Hyperbarics is great for those in their later years. Hyperbarics provide an immeasurable boost with counteracts the signs of ageing.
