Fascia Release Therapy
This 1-on-1 session is built for individuals and athletes
Service Description
The Fascia Release technique used is a trauma-based massage, aimed at not inflicting further intense pain on the body and massaging the body with little slip by not using a lot of oil or cream. The focus is on the body as a whole, as the tissue connects the body in long, fascia bands that run in one continuous loop from head to toe. what affects one part of the body will refer further down the line and some of the time, where you feel pain, is not the root cause. Each session is a full body release as the tissue connects and touches every part of the body if one part of the body is strained it will have an effect on another side. What is Fascia?: Fascia is a thin tissue that wraps around the body and makes up tendons, ligaments, muscles, and internal organs. It gives muscles form and support. There are also bands of fascia that run in continuous loops from head to toe, sliding and gliding over and in between muscle and organ assisting with function. In addition, the skin has its own layer of Fascia that is often referred to as the body's ‘wetsuit’, it is this layer of connective tissue that holds and stabilizes the body. Most of the body's nerves lie within the tissue, as well as veins and arteries. There are 10 times more sensory nerves that lie with the Fascia than what is within each muscle, at times the pain you are feeling could be the health of the tissue that is compromised, however, if there is an issue with the tissue, the muscle or organ below it will be affected, as well as pull your body out of balance. Why Fascia Release Massage? Releasing restrictions that can form within the tissue will restore fluidity, with an end result of improved movement, increased range of motion, balance, less inflammation, improved muscle performance, and therefore less pain, as well as activated muscles. Manual manipulation (massage) of the fascia with local friction can increase blood flow, produce heat, and improve hyaluronic acid, improving the fascia's ability to slide and glide and assist with body function.
